Kickboxing is one of the many group classes we’ve got going at Viva Gym. It’s a gym fam fave and if you haven’t given it a go, we know it will be yours too! It’s high intensity, therefore it’s one of the most effective group activities to burn calories.

Our team is standing by to train you, no matter what your fitness level is. Being part of a group class is a great way to stay motivated and push yourself to achieve even more!

We work with world-class trainers and instructors to bring you a kick-ass workout that you will love! Our state of the art studios are well-lit and spacious to ensure that we can accommodate most people that want to join. However, we do try and keep the classes small enough to ensure that everybody can benefit from individual instructor guidance if required.

We welcome people of all fitness levels to our kickboxing classes and they are structured in such a way that it’s easy for anyone to join, while still providing a challenge to our more advanced students.

How do I know kickboxing is for me?


Are you looking for a HIIT workout that will challenge your body and mind? Then you should really give kickboxing a go, providing you are aware of any medical reason you shouldn’t.

It incorporates elements of self-defence, martial arts (Muay Thai and karate), sparring, and cardio, making it mentally as well as physically engaging on a whole new level. Boredom is not an option.

Any type of exercise performed on a regular basis can have a vast number of health benefits. People that take part in a kickboxing class may benefit in the following ways:

What to expect at a Viva kickboxing class


The class structure may vary slightly depending on who is leading the class or the gym you are attending, but generally, it will have the following format:

  • Warm-up, which may consist of squats, jumping jacks and planking
  • Overview of form, this is particularly useful if you are a beginner
  • Drills
  • Cooldown stretches

All Viva Gym timetables can be found here, currently, most of our gyms host at least one kickboxing class a week. All classes are completely free to join at any of our gyms if you are a member.
