This workout incorporates natural day to day movements into a bootcamp style session designed to strengthen the body to function, play and work with more energy and strength and fewer injuries. A variety of exciting equipment and body weights are used to get results.

Functional training mirrors your everyday actions like lifting, walking, carrying and bending so moving becomes easier. It’s all down to your body doing what it was meant to do. So the next time you stretch to charge your phone or bend to unload the laundry, you’re more flexible and niggle-free.

What to expect at a Viva Functional class

We use only the best instructors who are experts in their fields. Our equipment is of the highest standard – all you need to bring are your sweat towel and comfy, non-slip shoes.

While our studios are spacious, we do our best to ensure the classes small enough that you get individual guidance from the instructor. We have also structured the classes in a way that allows you to join at any time and increase intensity as you improve.

The class structure may vary slightly depending on who is leading the class, but generally, it will have the following format:

  • Warm-up
  • A sequence or various movements and lifts
  • Steady increase in set intensity and tempo
  • Interspersed with short rest intervals
  • Cool-down

What equipment will I use?

The classes take place in the gym studio and will usually involve the use of suspension ropes, kettlebells, dumbbells, steps or platforms, stability balls, resistance bands, medicine balls, and body weight leverage.

When are the classes?
